Mod Retro Indie

Okay, so I was looking at LOLCat photos online when I came across this ad for website that sells indie fashion. I clicked the link, curious as I was, and lo and behold this website has AWESOME clothes!!!

So while surrealism is my favorite type of art, indie is my favorite type of fashion. It goes against the norm of society and can be individually expressed.

Ah, Sunday.

Heres another one: a smokey eye with a hint of color. Purple.

Nothing much got done today, I drove my dad out to get his hair cut. Also went to Caribou coffee, and had an amazing dark chocolate mocha. I don't think Starbucks has a dark chocolate mocha...

Oh, and I never did my nails. I suppose there is time to do them this evening, but that all depends on motivation and inspiration. And whether or not my homework gets finished in time.

Have a nice week, it starts tomorrow! No more late mornings for me.

I kind of got a wee bit bored just now...

And here is the result.

I'm not even sure what to call this, its very colorful; I used aqua, purple, pink, and yellow with black eyeliner. I initially started out with the goal of achieving a look that illustrates a unique technique of eyeliner, and this is what I came up with. I hope you enjoy, this was a fun design to create!

Also, I'm thinking about doing my nails later today. If that happens, I'll post a picture of what they turn out to be; however, I have no ideas yet. Stay tuned ;)

Second post today :)

Here's another eyeshadow design, as promised!

I wore this last evening to a performance in which I accompanied a few singers, and I like how the aqua turquoise matched the blue abalone detailing of my guitar. This was another eyeshadow that I had bought during my last endeavor to Target; Maybelline duo palette in Sea Glass. Then I used my light brown mineral shadow to create the depth in my eye, and black liner with a slight winged corner.

I took this picture before I put mascara on, and didn't realize it until later. For mascara I use CoverGirl Exact Eyelights for brown eyes.

Good morning!

During my day off due to snow (surprise, surprise) I went to Target and picked up a really neat eyeshadow palette of two colors; silver and black. So I used these to make a 3D smokey eye look! Voila!

I like the pigmentation of this product. I used HIP by Loreal Paris, metallic duo. I read on the container that HIP stands for High Intensity Pigments, and I would have to say that this is a correct label. Yay for Correct labels!

Later I will be posting another blog about another eyeshadow with yet another product. Sorry for the lack of continuous updating. Until then, have a nice weekend!

No School Tomorrow?

That better be the case.

I woke up late today... like at 12:30. And yes, that is late. However, nothing much else will be getting done since I can't really go anywhere.

But while I'm inside, there are a few things I can do. Today I created this pink eyeshadow look, and though it seems like a hot pink I actually used a lavender eyeshadow base and layered a medium pink on top of it. Badda Boom, Badda Bing! HOT PINK. And then black eyeliner with purple outer corners for the whole 3-D effect.

Have a FABULOUS day!

Blizzard!

And I don't mean the delicious kind from Dairy Queen.

I finally got around to doing my toenails, and figured I'd update my fingernails too. And since I've been quite dramatic on the nails, going from chrome to ladybugs- I figured I would pain them nude pink. Then I got a little bored. So what happened next? I added a small detail, a white flower with gold buds at each thumb and ring finger :D

The look is still subtle, and keeps my nails looking nice and polished. I also did some exfoliating and lotioning beforehand (no pun intended) to get rid of dead and dry skin. Winter tends to dry my skin out.

Don't get caught in the snow, if you are on the side of America where snow is blatantly apparent and... well, everywhere. If not, them don't hesitate to take some, there is PLENTY!

Default look

What is my default look? When I can't think of anything creative, or just don't feel like thinking of anything creative, this is my default look. I use different shades of brown to go for just a natural and neutral look that goes with any outfit or style.

Now for Clothes?

I figured it would be interesting to add a little spice to this blog. The result? My outfit for a gig at a local bar called The Whiskey!

I wore a jewel tone blue tunic from Rave with a black lace camisole that I got from Limited, and a charcoal grey vest with blue pinstripes that I had borrowed from my sister. As for the lower half, I believe I wore khaki shorts; however, anything could work, from skinny jeans to flare jeans and maybe even a denim mini :D

My hair is in its natural wave (see the below post about how I style my waves) and pinned up at the top. I used a straightener for my bangs.

The jewelry I used is a cheap necklace that I got from Claire's, and studs for earrings. Don't be afraid to get creative with jewelry, especially if you tend to have a long neck like mine; or at least my grandfather told me I had a long neck. He's silly like that. Love you grandpa!

More snow...

So last time I posted, I said that school had a 2 hour delay, right?

Well, now we have the whole day off. More snow came in, and I guess our county doesn't know how to handle a few inches of it.

Anyway, todays featured eyeshadow is going to be a brown and black smokey eye. I like the dark, grunge look it had going on. This is definitely one of the techniques I'll try when I play a gig in my band Purple Everywhere.

Well, time to go drink my weight in coffee. I can never get enough of this stuff.

2 Hour delayed opening

School is delayed two hours today, so I thought I'd use some of the extra time to post another blog! :D

Today I have sort of a silvery eye shadow with dark inner and outer corners; I used black eyeliner and dark blue with the silverish eye shadow. Its a very nice cool look, almost perfect for the snow we have outside.

I should really start to finish getting ready for school now. It's odd how I always end up running late even when I have an extra two hours to get ready!
